This Privacy Policy refers to information collected when booking for a service online and in receiving a service from Miranda Engstrom Birth 

Information CollectedInformation collected via booking for a service online includes your contact details (name, phone number, email address, and date of birth), and payment data if you choose to pay securely online. Online payment is through Stripe, a secure Payment Processing Platform. All data is stored by Stripe, and you can find their privacy policy here. In receiving a service from Miranda Engstrom Birth you will provide signed and verbal consent to enter into a contract with Miranda Engstrom Birth.Your practitioner agrees to comply with the: Privacy Act 2020, Health and Disability Commissioner’s Code of Rights.

Protection of your personal information We will only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations. Information during a session will be collected and stored securely in a combination of hardcopy and/or digital form. In entering into a contract with Miranda Engstrom Birth  you (as service user) will agree to consent to your information being stored securely and your confidentiality maintained. All personal information you provide must be true and complete, and you must notify us if there are any changes to your personal information.

How long is information stored for?We will hold your information for as long as required to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless otherwise required by law. Under The Health (Retention of Health Information) Regulations 1996 NZ, health information must be stored for 10 years.

Communication If you opt to receive occasional business information updates and educational articles you will receive this via your email account. You can opt out of this at any time by unsubscribing. If you have booked an appointment, you will receive an appointment confirmation email and an appointment reminder email prior to your appointment via our online booking platform.

Your privacy rights You may review, change, or end your contract with Miranda Engstrom Birth at any time.

Disclaimer While the intention of birth trauma support sessions with Miranda Engstrom Birth aim to address your healing safely and holistically, I recognise there are many different ways to heal and health concerns can be complex. I am not a qualified counsellor or psychologist. I am a childbirth doula, a yoga teacher, and I have a teaching degree. I am not qualified to diagnose or treat trauma related disorders such as PTSD. If you feel your trauma is such that it is outside my scope of practice, you may need to consider switching to a different care provider or concurrently seeing someone else, such as your GP or specialist medical doctor, especially if you are experiencing a health crisis.
