About me…
My journey into the world of birth, motherhood, and healing began through my own lived experiences. Before the birth of my son, living in Dubai, I became deeply immersed in learning about pregnancy and birth. Following his birth, I found myself constantly researching, sharing resources, lending books, and becoming a trusted source of support for other women around me. Over time, I realised I wanted to offer something deeper and more personal, which led me to train as a birth doula.
Continuing our ex-pat journey, my small family moved to Singapore. While living there, I supported women through pregnancy and birth within the unique complexities of expat life and the medical system there. Yet witnessing birth within that system also led me to question many aspects of modern maternity care and the ways women’s experiences are so often shaped, directed, or overlooked.
My own path then took an unexpected turn through the experience of pregnancy losses — a journey I never imagined I would walk, but one that opened the door to profound grief, trauma, and transformation. Following this, I experienced a challenging pregnancy with my daughter alongside severe postnatal depression. Since then, I have walked a long and layered path of healing — physically, emotionally, spiritually, and ancestrally.
There are threads of loss woven through my family story too. My mother experienced the loss of a daughter through adoption, and also miscarried while still pregnant with me — an experience I have always felt deeply connected to. I believe these stories live within all of us and shape the way we move through the world as women and mothers.
Because of the path I have walked, I hold deep compassion for women navigating grief, birth trauma, loss, complex pregnancies, postnatal struggles, and impossible choices. I understand how isolating these experiences can feel, and how important it is to be truly seen, heard, and supported without judgement. Having lived overseas for 16 years, including for the births of both my children, I also have insight and understanding of how difficult it can be to navigate pregnancy and birth in unfamiliar systems, away from family and friends for support.
My work is grounded not only in training and knowledge, but in lived experience, deep empathy, and a genuine desire to walk alongside women through some of the most vulnerable and transformative moments of their lives. If I can help soften another woman’s path — even in a small way — then that brings profound meaning, hope, and purpose to my work.
